# Avoid Fake Plex Link Sites: Stay Safe in 4 Steps

Type **plex.tv/link** directly in your browser. Plex does not ask you to call a phone number, pay a fee, or install software to link your TV.

## How to stay safe

**1. Type the address yourself**

Enter `plex.tv/link` in the address bar instead of clicking search ads or unknown links.

**2. Check the domain**

The address must be `plex.tv` or `www.plex.tv`. Look-alike domains with extra words or dashes are fake.

**3. Never call or pay**

If a page asks you to call a number, chat with an "activation agent", or pay to link, close it.

**4. Secure your account if needed**

If you entered your password on a fake site, reset your Plex password right away and sign out connected devices.
